United Kingdom to Launch eVisas for Select Applicants

Key Point

  • Starting 30 October 2025, the UK will begin issuing eVisas instead of physical visa vignettes for select overseas applicants

eVisa Requirement Changes

The UK Home Office has confirmed that, beginning 30 October 2025, certain visa applicants applying from outside the UK will no longer receive a physical visa vignette (the sticker placed in a passport). Instead, eligible applicants will be issued an eVisa as part of the UK’s transition to a fully digital immigration system.

This change will initially apply to some work, study and family visa routes, as well as indefinite leave to enter (settlement) applications. Affected individuals will need to create a UKVI account to access and prove their immigration status online. The Home Office will contact eligible applicants directly with instructions.

Authorities urge travelers to learn how to access and present their eVisa when entering the UK, since the UK will no longer issue physical visa stickers in these cases.
