Europe

Europe presents a unique challenge when it comes to immigration compliance.

Tracking employee movement across borders within the EU and keeping the business current and compliant with posted worker requirements can be a major headache. Understanding when to use a national program versus an EU-wide route is also complex. Meanwhile, although the UK continues to be a European hub for many multinational businesses, since Brexit, facilitating moves for employees travelling between the UK and the EU may require work permission applications. The move towards electronic travel authorization (the UK ETA and the European ETIAS) has added yet another administrative burden for HR and travel teams.

We have in-house practices and wholly owned offices in the UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands, and offer services for the rest of Europe through our multilingual team, which brings deep expertise in Central and Eastern Europe.

We are active members of the International Bar Association (IBA), the American International Lawyers’ Association (AILA) and the European Relocation Association (EuRA), as well as the London Chamber of Commerce, the Institute of Directors (IOD), the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association (ILPA), the Franco-British Chamber of Commerce and the Madrid Bar Association. Our directors and managers provide thought leadership across the region and foster deep connections with government agencies.
