Costa Rica has established a Special Temporary Complementary Category through Resolution No. DG-0064-05-2026, published in La Gaceta (No. 98, Alcance 65). This measure aims to regularize the status of certain foreign nationals currently in the country.
Who Is Affected
The new category applies to nationals of:
- Nicaragua
- Venezuela
- Cuba
- Colombia
Eligible individuals include those whose applications for refugee status are:
- Still pending, or
- Have been denied
