Denmark Standardizes Registration for People from Taiwan

Key Points

  • Denmark will standardize nationality and place of birth registration for people from Taiwan across immigration records

Uniform Registration Process

Denmark is implementing a consistent approach for recording information about people from Taiwan. Previously, different agencies applied varying registration methods, leading to inconsistencies. Under the new policy, “Taiwan” will be designated as the place of birth, while “China” will be recorded as nationality.

This standardization will affect residence permits, citizenship certificates, and official legal documents. All first-time applications and extensions will now follow this approach. While past registrations won’t be automatically updated, individuals can request corrections from the relevant authorities who issued their residence cards.
