Taiwan Introduces Mandatory Online Arrival Registration
Key Points
- Starting 1 October 2025, Taiwan will require all incoming passengers to complete the Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) online within three days before arrival, replacing traditional paper-based forms
Streamlined Immigration Process for Travelers
Taiwan updated the TWAC system to be more intuitive and efficient. It now supports multiple languages, including Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese and Indonesian. The system now allows automatic data extraction from a passport snapshot, speeding up processing.
For families and group travelers, one person can submit forms for up to 16 individuals, with mandatory email verification ensuring accuracy. Airlines and shipping companies will display TWAC QR codes at check-in counters to assist travelers who have not registered in advance.
