Taiwan Announces Visa-Free Entry Extension for Thai, Brunei and Philippine Nationals

• Taiwan will extend its visa-free entry program for nationals of Thailand, Brunei and the Philippines for an additional year, from August 1, 2026, through July 31, 2027. 

Visa-Free Entry Extended  

Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced that it will extend the trial visa-free entry program for nationals of Thailand, Brunei and the Philippines for one additional year. 

The extension will take effect on August 1, 2026, and remain in place through July 31, 2027.  

The decision follows an interagency review of Taiwan’s visa and entry facilitation measures implemented under the country’s New Southbound Policy. 

Additional Entry Measures Maintained 

Taiwan will also continue its Project for Simplifying Visa Regulations for High-End Group Tourists from Southeast Asian Countries (Project Kuan Hong) through December 31, 2027, for nationals of: 

• India 
• Indonesia 
• Vietnam 
• Myanmar 
• Laos 

In addition, Taiwan will maintain its Travel Authorization Certificate (TAC) program, which provides eligible travelers from certain Southeast Asian countries with conditional visa-free entry.  

Changes for Cambodian Nationals 

MOFA confirmed that Cambodian nationals will no longer be eligible for either the visa-free entry trial program or the Project Kuan Hong facilitation measures beginning August 1, 2026.
