  • Taiwan has resumed visa applications for Ugandan residents while extending its suspension of visa issuance for residents of the Democratic Republic of the Congo through November 28, 2026.

Taiwan Updates Ebola-Related Visa Measures

Taiwan has lifted visa restrictions for residents of Uganda, allowing visa applications to resume effective August 28, 2026.

However, visa issuance for residents of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) remains suspended through November 28, 2026, due to ongoing Ebola-related public health measures.

Exemptions

The DRC visa suspension does not apply to:

  • Students enrolled in degree programs in Taiwan;
  • Diplomatic and official travelers;
  • Spouses and minor children of Taiwanese nationals; and
  • Travelers with emergency or humanitarian needs.

Looking Ahead

Travel and immigration restrictions for DRC residents are expected to continue through at least November 28, 2026.
