Norway Increases Subsistence Requirement for Family Immigration

Key Points

  • Norway will now require an annual income of approximately NOK 400,000 for family reunification applications

Increased Family Reunification Cost

Effective 1 February 2025, Norway increased the income requirement for family immigration by approximately NOK 65,000. This means individuals must have an annual income of around NOK 400,000 to bring family members to Norway.

This measure aims to ensure a controlled and sustainable level of immigration and promote self-sufficiency among families. The change is part of efforts to ensure that families living in Norway do not rely on state benefits and can better integrate into society.
