Poland Restricts Work Authorization Eligibility Under Visa-Free Entry for Citizens of Georgia, Colombia and Venezuela
- Poland will prohibit citizens of Georgia, Colombia, and Venezuela from working while in the country under the visa-free travel regime beginning August 22, 2026, though individuals already working under existing permissions may continue until their authorized visa-free stay expires.
Restricts Work Authorization
Poland has issued a new regulation limiting the ability of certain foreign nationals to work while present in the country under a visa-free travel regime.
Effective August 22, 2026, citizens of Georgia, Colombia and Venezuela will no longer be permitted to perform work in Poland under a work permit while staying in the country pursuant to visa-free entry.
The restriction applies to work performed during a visa-free stay in Poland.
Transitional Measures
The regulation includes a grandfathering provision for affected foreign nationals already working in Poland.
Individuals from the above countries who:
- Hold a valid work permit; and
- Began working in Poland under the visa-free regime before August 22, 2026,
may continue working under the existing rules until the end of their permitted visa-free stay.
