| Double or multiple‑entry visa | $6.00 | $40.00 |
| Transit visa | $1.00 | $5.00 |
Visa Fee Exemptions
The government also maintains a list of nationalities exempt from visa fees. The consulate notes that this list is subject to change, and applicants should confirm their eligibility before applying.
Payment Requirements
- Fees must be paid in cash, money order, cashier’s check or company check.
- Personal checks and credit cards are not accepted.
- Payments must be made payable to the Consulate General of Japan.
