Ireland: Expansion of Safe List Countries

  • Ireland added five new countries to its designated list of safe countries on 2 July 2024 

Overview  

The government of Ireland added Brazil, Egypt, India, Malawi and Morocco to its list of safe countries on 2 July 2024. As a result, asylum seekers from these countries who file for International Protection will have their applications reviewed within three months. 

The purpose of the safe countries list is to expedite international protection application processing.
