Why do I have to provide a wet or ink signature on some forms?

UCSIS now requires original, wet-ink signatures on the forms that must be sent with a petition. The signatures required will depend on the case. For primary cases (H-1B, L-1, I-140, etc), the Petitioner (employer) will most often provide the original signature. For most dependent (H-4, L-2, I-485, etc) cases, the primary Applicant (the dependent) on the case will need to provide their original signature. Generally, the Beneficiary (employee) signature is only needed for I-485 cases. If you would like confirmation on who needs to provide an original signature on a case, please reach out to Envoy Customer Experience.
