The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Russia Sign Mutual Visa Exemption Agreement

Key Point

  • The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Russia signed a mutual visa exemption agreement that will allow ordinary passport holders of each country to enter the other visa-free for a specific duration.

Visa Exemption Agreement

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), in collaboration with Russia, signed a mutual visa exemption agreement allowing citizens of both countries to enter each other’s territory without a visa for eligible shortterm travel purposes.

The agreement will take effect on May 11, 2026.

Eligibility

Under the agreement, citizens holding ordinary passports will be eligible for visafree entry for tourism, business meetings and family visits, with stays of up to 90 days within a oneyear period.

KSA officials noted that travelers must hold a valid passport, and the exemption does not permit residency, employment or religious travel such as Hajj or Umrah.
