Media Alert: Trump Administration Reportedly Preparing Large-Scale Visa Revocations for Some Asylum Seekers

• Media reports indicate the Trump administration is preparing to revoke certain B-1/B-2 visitor visas held by foreign nationals who have applied for or are currently seeking asylum in the U.S.

 News Reports on Potential Visa Revocations 

Several media outlets, including AP News, the Washington Post and Reuters, have reported that the Trump administration is preparing to revoke B-1 and B-2 visitor visas issued to foreign nationals who later applied for or are currently seeking asylum in the U.S.  

According to AP reporting, the initiative could affect up to 200,000 individuals and would represent one of the largest visa revocation efforts in U.S. history if implemented.  

Reports indicate the State Department is coordinating with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to identify impacted individuals. A State Department spokesperson stated that the government is working to revoke visas of foreign nationals who entered the U.S. as temporary visitors and subsequently sought asylum.
