Singapore Expands myMOM Portal Work Permit Services for Work permit Holders

  • Singapore will introduce additional Work Permit eService functions through the myMOM Portal beginning Nov. 29, 2026, including Temporary Permit applications, worker profile management and in-principle approval extensions.

Singapore Continues Migration of Work Permit Services to myMOM Portal

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) is continuing its transition of Work Permit services from WP Online to the myMOM Portal as part of a broader digital modernization initiative.

Additional Work Permit functions will become available through the portal beginning Nov. 29, 2026, with the goal of consolidating all Work Permit transactions into a single platform by the end of 2027.

Temporary Permit Applications Move to myMOM

Employers will be able to apply for a Temporary Permit (TP) through the myMOM Portal when a worker needs to begin employment before the Work Permit is formally issued.

Key changes include:

  • Workers may begin work only after a Work Permit has been issued or a Temporary Permit has been granted.
  • Temporary Permit applications for eligible workers will generally be approved instantly.
  • Levy charges will begin on the date the Temporary Permit is issued.

Worker Profile and Employment Detail Updates

Beginning Nov. 29, employers will be able to use a new “View/Update Foreigner Profile” function within the myMOM Portal to:

  • View worker particulars and employment history
  • Review security bond status
  • View and update employment details, including key employment terms such as salary

Some profile update functions, including updates to worker particulars and occupation details, will remain in WP Online until those features migrate to myMOM in 2027.

In-Principle Approval Extension Requests

Employers will also be able to request extensions of In-Principle Approvals (IPAs) through the myMOM Portal when additional time is needed before a worker enters Singapore.

Previously, these requests were handled through WP Online.

Broader Work Permit Digitalization Efforts

The November enhancements are part of a multi-year effort by MOM to streamline Work Permit administration. Previous updates have already moved application, appeal, issuance and cancellation functions into the myMOM environment, with renewal functions expected to follow in 2027.

Once fully implemented, employers will be able to complete all Work Permit transactions through a single platform.
