Beginning May 15, 2026, employers will have a much shorter window to submit online appeals for applications rejected at the Expatriate Committee Meeting.
Key Changes Effective May 15, 2026
Malaysia will introduce a new 14‑day appeal deadline, which includes the following requirements:
- Appeals must now be submitted within 14 days of the date of rejection.
- The ESD system will only allow submissions during this 14‑day period.
- Appeals submitted after the deadline will be automatically rejected by the system.
This replaces the previous six‑month appeal window.
