Finland Suspends Visas for Palestinian Passport Holders

Finland updated its policy and is no longer issuing residence permits for employment or education to individuals holding Palestinian passports. While Finland continues to recognize passports issued by the Palestinian Authority as valid travel documents, the change affects those seeking a long-term stay for work or study purposes.

Visas for short-term travel remain unaffected. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs confirmed that the shift does not alter Finland’s recognition of Palestinian passports, which has been in place since 1995.
