Brazil Reduces Passport Fees for Passports Issued Abroad

  • Brazil has announced a reduction in consular fees for passports issued abroad beginning June 1, 2026.  

Brazil Passport Fee Update 

Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed a reduction in the fees for Brazilian passports issued outside Brazil effective June 1, 2026. The government is expected to publish the exact amount in the coming weeks. The current fee is:  

  • Current fee abroad: ~R$550–R$600 (varies by country) 
  • Current fee in Brazil: R$257.25 
  • New fee abroad starting June 1, 2026: 50% lower than each consulate’s current amount 

The updated fees apply to passports issued at Brazilian embassies, consulates and consular offices worldwide.
