Thailand Temporary Relaxation for E‑Work Permit Submissions
Key Point
- Thailand announced a temporary measure allowing both paper‑based and electronic submissions for Work Permit applications at the Thailand Investment & Expats Services Center
Work Permit Submission Update
Thailand confirmed that, due to ongoing upgrades and occasional system errors in the E‑Work Permit platform, employers may now submit applications at TIESC in two formats:
- Paper‑based submission (no scanning or uploading required)
- Electronic submission through the E‑Work Permit system
This temporary relaxation will remain in effect until further notice.
Eligibility for 1‑Day Approval at TIESC
TIESC (formerly the One Stop Service Center) processes a special category of Work Permit applications within one working day, provided all criteria are met.
- Employers must hold paid‑up capital or assets of at least THB 30 million, and they must register the company in Bangkok.
- The application must target a managerial-level role or higher.
Applications that do not meet these conditions must follow the standard Department of Employment process.
