Texas Governor Proposes H-1B Ban for Public Schools

Texas Proposes H-1B Ban for Public Schools

Governor Greg Abbott unveiled a new education initiative that seeks to eliminate foreign influence in Texas public schools. According to the announcement, the proposal would apply to K-12 public schools across the state and includes measures targeting both foreign funding and foreign workers.  

Proposed H-1B Ban for Texas Public Schools 

As part of the initiative, Abbott announced that he will seek legislation establishing a total ban on H-1B workers in Texas public schools.  

The proposal would prevent Texas public schools from employing workers in H-1B status if enacted by the legislature.
