Quebec, Canada Updates LMIA Occupation List for 2026
Key Point
- Quebec authorities introduced an updated list of occupations eligible for the province’s labor market impact assessment (LMIA).
LMIA-Eligible Occupations for Quebec
Quebec has published its new list of occupations eligible for the province’s simplified Labor market impact assessment (LMIA–CAQ) process, effective February 24, 2026.
The list determines which roles can be supported without mandatory advertising requirements under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.
According to the Government of Quebec, the updated list is valid from February 24, 2026, through February 23, 2027. However, there will be a 30‑day transitional period running until March 26, 2026, during which employers may continue using the previous 2025 list.
What Changed?
A significant change this year is the removal of IT occupations from the simplified processing list.
