Permanent Residence Card Renewals

Hungary announced that permanent residence cards issued in Hungary between August 3, 2016, and August 2, 2021, will expire by August 3, 2026, requiring affected EEA and thirdcountry family members to apply for a new residence status.

Holders must apply for a new residence title in Hungary before the deadline to maintain lawful residence status.
