USCIS Completes FY 2027 H‑1B Initial Registration Selection Process

Key Point

  • USCIS announced that it has completed the FY 2027 H‑1B initial registration selection process and has notified all selected registrants through their online accounts

FY 2027 H-1B Initial Registration Selection

USCIS has announced that it has completed the initial registration selection process for the FY 2027 H‑1B cap. All prospective petitioners with selected beneficiaries have been notified through their myUSCIS online accounts.

What Employers Need to Know

  • Registrations selected in the lottery now display a “Selected” status in the employer’s or attorney’s USCIS account.
  • Each selection notice includes the beneficiary’s information, the petition filing window, and the USCIS service center where the petition must be submitted.
  • Only the employer named in the registration may file the petition for the selected beneficiary.

Next Steps for Selected Registrations

Employers may now begin preparing and filing H‑1B cap petitions during the designated filing period listed on the selection notice. USCIS reminds petitioners that the FY 2027 registration form included new wage‑level reporting requirements as part of the weighted selection process.

Petitions must include:

  • A copy of the H‑1B Registration Selection Notice
  • The correct SOC code, wage level and worksite information are consistent with the registration
  • Valid passport or travel document information for the beneficiary, matching what was used at registration

USCIS emphasizes that employers may register each beneficiary under only one passport or travel document, and that document must be valid and unexpired at the time of registration.

For Registrations Not Selected

USCIS has not announced whether additional rounds of selection will occur. Employers should continue monitoring their accounts for any updates.
