France Minimum Wage Increase 2026

- France announced that the minimum wage (SMIC) will be revalued starting 1 January 2026
2026 Minimum Wage in France
France announced a 1.18% increase to the minimum wage (SMIC) effective 1 January 2026. The new rates are as follows:
- Gross hourly minimum wage: €12.02 (up from €11.88)
- Gross monthly minimum wage (35 hours): €1,823.03
- Estimated net monthly minimum wage: €1,443.11
These provisions apply across metropolitan France and overseas departments and territories.
Mayotte Exception
In Mayotte, where a separate wage trajectory applies:
- Gross hourly minimum wage: €9.33
- Gross monthly minimum wage (full-time): €1,415.05
- Represents a 3.90% increase.
Guaranteed Minimum
The guaranteed minimum, used for calculating certain benefits in kind, will rise to €4.25.
