The French Ministry of Labor has confirmed that the national minimum wage (SMIC) increased on June 1, 2026.
This adjustment follows France’s legally mandated mechanism that triggers an automatic increase when inflation for the lowest‑income households rises by at least 2%.
New SMIC Rates (Effective June 1, 2026)
- Hourly gross SMIC: €12.50
- Monthly gross SMIC (35 hours/week): €1,900
