Finland announced that it will temporarily pause decision‑making on certain asylum applications filed by Iranian nationals while it reassesses the security situation in Iran. 

The government stated that large‑scale demonstrations and the use of force by Iranian security authorities have created conditions that require updated country‑of‑origin information before some cases can move forward.  

Who is Impacted?  

This partial pause affects roughly 100 pending applications and will remain in place until the review is complete, a standard practice across EU Member States when significant changes occur in an applicant’s home‑country conditions.
