Overview

As of 1 June 2023, the government of Denmark requires that the following immigration application types be completed online:

  • Applications for residence and work permits issued to salaried workers or PhD students;
  • Applications submitted by family members of a foreign national seeking to study or work in Denmark;
  • Internship applications and work applications submitted for foreign nationals intending to work in Denmark under certain medical occupations and more.

The Danish government will no longer accept applications under these categories. Only under specific circumstances are applicants exempt from the requirement to complete the online application form.

What are the Changes?

The government of Denmark now requires certain work and residence permit applications to be submitted online. According to the government announcement, these measures will ensure that all relevant information is provided on the initial application. from there, the government transfers all necessary information to the agency’s case processing systems. This provides faster and more flexible case processing.
