Denmark Opens 2026 Working Holiday Quotas for Chile and Argentina

• Denmark has opened the second 2026 Working Holiday quota period for citizens of Chile and Argentina. 

Denmark Opens Working Holiday Quotas for Chilean and Argentine Nationals 

The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) announced that a new quota period for the Working Holiday residence permit program opened on September 1, 2026, for citizens of Chile and Argentina.  

Applicants can submit their applications through VFS Global centers in Santiago and Buenos Aires.  

Working Holiday Quota Details 

Under Denmark’s Working Holiday agreements: 

• A total of 150 residence permits per year are available to citizens of Chile and Argentina.  
• The quota year runs from March through February of the following year and is divided into two quota periods.  
• During the first quota period (March through August), up to 75 permits per country may be issued.  
• Residence permits are granted on a first-come, first-served basis.  

Once the annual quota is exhausted, no additional permits will be issued until the next quota year begins on March 1, 2027.  

Application and Processing Considerations 

Applications submitted after the annual quota has been reached are expected to be refused. In such cases: 

• The application processing fee paid to SIRI will be refunded.  
• Fees paid to VFS Global or the Danish representation in Chile are not refundable, even if the application is denied due to quota limits being reached.
