China Expands Visa‑Exemption Program for Short‑Term Travelers

  • China expanded its visaexemption program, offering 30day visafree entry to an increasing number of countries under both temporary unilateral policies and longstanding bilateral agreements. 

China Broadens VisaFree Entry Options for Foreign Travelers 

China continues to expand its visaexemption framework, offering temporary and longterm visafree entry to travelers from a growing list of countries.  

The policies include temporary unilateral visafree arrangements, many of which are valid through December 31, 2026 or December 31, 2027, as well as permanent bilateral visaexemption agreements. 

Temporary 30Day VisaFree Entry (Valid Through December 31, 2027) 

  • Russia (30 days; temporary policy extended through December 31, 2027) 

Temporary 30Day VisaFree Entry (Valid Through December 31, 2026) 

Applies to travelers from: 

Andorra, Argentina, Austria, Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Oman, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Uruguay. 

Permanent 30Day VisaFree Entry (Bilateral Agreements) 

Brunei, Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Ecuador, Fiji, Grenada, Maldives, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Suriname, Tonga and United Arab Emirates. 

30Day VisaFree Entry With 90Day Stay in 180 Days 

  • Antigua and Barbuda 
  • Azerbaijan
