Australia Increases Visa Application Fees Effective July 2026

The Australian Department of Home Affairs updated its visa application pricing schedule effective July 1, 2026, resulting in substantial increases to government filing fees across a broad range of temporary and permanent visa categories.
Key Changes
The revised pricing schedule introduces higher government application charges across numerous visa subclasses, including visitor, student, work, business, family-sponsored and permanent residence pathways.
Examples of updated government fees include:
- Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 188) – Business Innovation Stream: AUD 12,505 base application charge.
- Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 188) – Significant Investor Stream: AUD 18,335 base application charge.
- Employer-sponsored, skilled, student, visitor, and family visa categories have also been updated under the revised pricing framework. Applicants should verify exact costs using the Department’s Visa Pricing Estimator before filing.
