Australia Expands Immi App to 47 Countries for Visa Biometrics

  • Australia expanded the Australian Immi App to 47 countries, allowing more visa applicants to submit facial biometrics and passport details through their smartphones. 

Australia Expands Immi App Access for Offshore Visa Applicants 

Australia announced a major expansion of the Australian Immi App, extending availability to 47 countries under the Offshore Biometric Collection Program. As of 24 March 2026, the Department of Home Affairs added 13 new countries, including: 

  • Albania, Bhutan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Ghana, Lesotho, Nepal, Somalia (third country nationals), Sri Lanka, Uganda and Zimbabwe.  

About Immi App  

The Immi App allows eligible visa applicants to submit facial biometrics and passport information directly from their smartphones, reducing the need to visit a biometric collection center.  

To use the app, applicants must have previously provided biometrics to the Department and hold a valid passport.  

Background on Immi App 

The government plans further expansion across Europe, SubSaharan Africa, the Mekong region and South Asia throughout 2026.
