Armenia to Digitize the Residence Permit Application Process Beginning November 2026
Key Point
- Armenia will launch a new electronic residence permit application system on November 1, 2026, digitizing residency status procedures and replacing existing application platforms.
Resident Permit Application Process to Move Online
Armenia’s Migration and Citizenship Service has announced that services related to obtaining residency status in the country will transition to a fully digital process beginning November 1, 2026.
Armenia amended its Law on Foreigners to modernize the residence permit application process through a new electronic platform.
What Is Changing?
Beginning November 1, 2026:
- Armenia will launch a new electronic residency application system.
- Authorities will process residence permit applications through newly implemented software.
- Applicants will submit residency-related requests electronically through the new platform.
This rollout marks a significant shift from Armenia’s current residence permit process and centralizes residency services within a new digital framework.
Authorities Will Discontinue Existing Platforms
As part of the transition:
- The migration.e-gov.am electronic platform will no longer be available for residency status services; and
- The Early One application will also cease providing these services effective November 1, 2026.
Foreign nationals who have already booked appointments for dates after November 1, 2026, will be required to submit their residency applications through the new electronic system instead.
