Work Permit Quota  

On June 22, 2026, the government of Andorra approved an increase of 250 permits under its general quota for residence and work authorizations, including cross-border worker permits.  

Breakdown of Additional Permits 

The increase is divided into two categories: 

• 150 permits for priority roles, including:  
  • Residence and work permits (135) 
  • Cross-border permits (15) 
  • Focus on highly skilled roles, healthcare, education, caregiving and transport 
• 100 permits for other occupations across sectors, including:  
  • Residence and work permits (90) 
  • Cross-border permits (10) 

Labor Market Focus 

The expansion aims to address workforce shortages in essential services and strategic occupations where local talent is limited, while supporting sustainable economic growth.  

Quota Management 

These additional permits will count toward the overall immigration quota to be approved later in 2026. Authorities noted that demand for permits remains high, with existing quotas already fully allocated.
