Saudi Arabia Saudization Rules Announced for Sports Centers

  • Saudi Arabia has introduced a 15% Saudization requirement for 12 sports‑related professions in private‑sector gyms and sports centers with four or more employees, effective 18 November 2026 

Saudization Gyms and Sport Centers  

Saudi Arabia has issued a joint decision through the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) and the Ministry of Sports requiring men’s and women’s sports centers and gyms in the private sector to ensure that 15% of workers in 12 designated sports professions are Saudi nationals by 18 November 2026.  

According to the official announcement, the requirement applies to establishments with four or more employees and covers roles such as sports coach, fitness trainer, personal trainer, sports supervisor and other specialized coaching positions. The policy aims to raise professional standards in the sports sector and expand employment opportunities for Saudi nationals.
