Kuwait Introduces Long-Term Residency for Investors

Long-Term Residency for Investors 

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has announced a new framework allowing eligible foreign investors to obtain long-term residency permits of up to 15 years, as part of broader efforts to enhance the country’s attractiveness as an investment destination. 

Eligible Categories 

The new residency option applies to: 

  • Foreign investors 
  • Family members of eligible investors 
  • Accredited senior executives 
  • Accredited partners 
  • Owners of licensed investment entities 

Eligibility Requirements 

Applicants must meet specific investment and operational criteria, including: 

  • Maintaining a minimum investment capital of at least KWD one million 
  • Holding investments valued at no less than KWD five million (for licensed entities) 
  • Demonstrating active business operations in Kuwait 
  • Meeting Kuwaitization (local employment) requirements
