Ireland Opens Application for Temporary Protection Transition Scheme
- Ireland has opened applications for the Temporary Protection Transition Scheme, which will allow eligible beneficiaries of Temporary Protection to apply to transition to an alternative immigration permission in Ireland.
Temporary Protection Transition Scheme
The Department of Justice in Ireland launched a new pathway that allows eligible individuals holding Temporary Protection to transition to an alternative immigration permission.
The Temporary Protection Transition Scheme (TPTS) opened for applications on Sept. 30, 2026, and is available to eligible beneficiaries of Temporary Protection who wish to remain in Ireland under another immigration route.
Transition Reminders
Eligible individuals can apply through the TPTS online portal. The government encourages applicants to review the scheme guidance carefully and include all required information and supporting documents with their applications to help avoid processing delays.
