Hong Kong Launches “Go Hong Kong” App for Pre-Arrival e-Channel Enrollment
- Hong Kong has launched the “Go Hong Kong” mobile application, allowing eligible frequent visitors to enroll in the e-Channel immigration clearance program before arriving in the city.
“Go Hong Kong” App for Pre-Arrival e-Channel Enrollment
The Immigration Department (ImmD) of Hong Kong launched the “Go Hong Kong” mobile application, enabling eligible frequent visitors to complete e-Channel enrollment before arrival. Once approved, travelers can use automated immigration clearance upon entering Hong Kong.
Key Details
Eligible visitors can use the app to enroll in the e-Channel program if they:
- Are at least 18 years old.
- Hold a qualifying electronic travel document and, where applicable, a multiple-entry visa.
- Have no adverse immigration record in Hong Kong.
- Have entered Hong Kong through Hong Kong International Airport at least twice within the previous 24 months.
The enrollment process is completed through the mobile application and includes:
- Providing an expected arrival date within the next three months.
- Submitting an email address.
- Scanning the travel document biodata page.
- Reading the document chip using NFC technology.
- Completing facial recognition identity verification.
Activation Requirements
Once enrollment is approved, travelers must enter Hong Kong on or before their declared arrival date to activate e-Channel access. If they do not arrive by that date, the enrollment record will automatically expire.
