Canada: Working Hours for International Students

  • Canada ended its temporary measures allowing foreign national students to work more than 20 hours per week off campus 

Overview  

On 30 April 2024, the government of Canada ended its temporary policy allowing foreign national students to work more than 20 hours per week off campus.  

Beginning in the fall of 2024, the government will also change the number of hours students may work off campus per week to 24 hours. 

Throughout the summer months, students who have a scheduled academic break can continue working unlimited hours.
