Canada Expands Online Passport Renewal to All Eligible Adult Canadians

• Eligible adult Canadians can now renew their passports entirely online, making the process faster and more accessible.  

Online Passport Renewal  

On July 28, 2026, the Government of Canada announced that online passport renewal is now available to all eligible adult Canadians living in Canada.  

The expansion removes previous participation limits and allows applicants to submit their renewal applications, passport photos and payments entirely online.  

Online renewals include real-time application status tracking and will generally follow a 20-business-day processing standard. In-person and mail-in renewal options remain available.
