Republic of Korea Announced Immigration Document Access Disrupted

Key Point

  • The Republic of Korea suspended the online issuance of key immigration certificates

Republic of Korea Systems Recovered

South Korea’s E-Arrival Card System is now fully operational following a temporary disruption caused by a fire at the Korea Information Resources Service (KIRS) in Daejeon. During the outage, immigration officers manually entered address information for incoming travelers. As of 29 September 2025, the system has been restored and is functioning normally.

Immigration Document Availability Update

South Korea’s Ministry of Justice announced that, due to a fire at the National Information Resources Service, it is currently not possible to issue immigration-related documents online via the Government 24 portal. Affected documents include:

  • Certificate of Entry and Exit
  • Certificate of Residence Registration
  • Certificate of Nationality Acquisition

Individuals needing these certificates must now visit a local immigration office in person until online services are restored.
