Liechtenstein New Passport Design and Security Enhancements
Key Point
- Liechtenstein will introduce a newly redesigned national passport beginning 3 February 2026.
Liechtenstein Passport 2026
Liechtenstein announced that a new version of its national passport will be available starting 3 February 2026, according to the government’s official communication. The updated passport incorporates enhanced security features, including individually designed interior pages, new anti‑fraud elements and a polycarbonate data page to replace the previous paper‑cotton blend.
The redesign updates the identity page to list place of birth instead of height, aligning with standards across the European Economic Area. Authorities have also modernized all special passport types, including diplomatic, service and refugee travel documents.
Existing passports remain valid until their stated expiration dates, and fees will remain unchanged.
