Finland Launches Initiative to Improve Asylum Processing
Finland has initiated a large-scale project to make asylum procedures more efficient, with participation from the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Justice, the Finnish Border Guard, the National Police Board, the Immigration Service and other agencies.
The project will examine the full asylum process, including registration, municipal placement or removal. Through this project, the government aims to reduce processing times and improve cost efficiency.
Expected Timeline
The initiative runs through February 2027 and supports Finland’s implementation of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum.
