Bulgaria New Academic Verification Rule Impacts EU Blue Card Processing

  • Bulgaria introduced new immigration legislation that requires diploma authentication via NACID for visa and residence applications 

Diploma Validation Now Mandatory 

Bulgaria amended its immigration legislation, effective 30 June 2025, introducing stricter requirements for foreign nationals applying for an EU Blue Card. All applicants must now submit a document issued by the Bulgarian National Centre for Information and Documentation (NACID) proving that their diplomas and mark sheets are authentic and meet national higher education standards.
