• Bermuda updates its Closed and Restricted Job Categories for 2026–2027, reinforcing priority for Bermudian workers while allowing targeted exceptions in key industries. 

Closed and Restricted Job Categories  

Bermuda announced updated Closed and Restricted Job Categories effective March 1, 2026, through February 28, 2027. As a result, the Closed list has expanded to include around 30 job categories.  

The policy continues the government’s commitment to ensuring Bermudians receive first consideration for available jobs, while allowing targeted adjustments to support operational needs in sectors such as hospitality and aviation.  

The next list will be published three months from now, in June 2026.
