Key Changes to Work Permits 

Bermuda has finalized its 2025 Work Permit Policy, effective 1 November 2025. This policy introduces significant reforms aimed at balancing local employment with corporate immigration needs.  

The policy includes the launch of a new Family Office Work Permit, digitalization of application processes and stricter rules on job changes for permit holders.  

Employers must now ensure English proficiency for new hires, submit police certificates for first-time applicants and adhere to a two-year employment minimum before permit holders can switch jobs.  

These updates reflect Bermuda’s commitment to economic growth while safeguarding opportunities for Bermudians.
