Andorra Proposes Changes to Nationality Law to Count All Residency Periods
- Andorra proposes nationality law changes to allow all legal residency periods to count toward naturalization
Andorra Moves to Expand Nationality Eligibility with Residency Reforms
Andorra introduced modifications to the Qualified Law on Nationality to make nationality requirements more flexible. The proposed changes would allow applicants to count all periods of legal residence, even if non-continuous, toward the 20-year residency requirement for naturalization.
Additional updates include expanded eligibility for nationality through schooling, allowing applicants to qualify after 10 years of education between ages three and 18, and new pathways for nationality by filiation, enabling children born abroad to obtain Andorran nationality under broader conditions.
The bill will now proceed to parliamentary review for potential approval.
