Key Point
- UAE Freezones will require clearance of all Dubai Police traffic fines before processing employment visa renewals or cancellations
Traffic Fine Violations Freezone
Starting 31 October 2025, Free Zones in the UAE—including the DIFC—will align with Mainland regulations, requiring that all Dubai Police traffic fines be cleared before employment visa renewal or cancellation. This update was issued by the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDIFA) and applies to both Freezone and Mainland visa processes. Key changes include:
- Mandatory Fine Check: Visa renewal and cancellation requests will now include a check for outstanding traffic fines.
- No Exceptions: If any fines are unpaid, they must be settled before the visa process can proceed.
- Recommended Action: Review and clear any fines in advance to avoid delays or disruptions.
