Thailand Implements BOI User Registration Requirement Under PDPA Act

 Key Point

  • Thailand will require all users of the BOI Single Window System to register their identity starting 1 September 2025

BOI Account Manager Registration

Beginning 1 September 2025, the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) will require all users of the BOI Single Window System to register their identity in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

  • Companies must designate a BOI Account Manager to oversee user access.
  • The Manager may be an authorized company director or an appointed employee.
  • Multiple Managers may be assigned.

Required Documents

To register a BOI Account Manager, companies must upload the following to the BOI Single Window System:

  • A signed Power of Attorney (POA) from the company’s directors, appointing the Manager. The POA must include a 10-baht stamp duty.
  • A signed copy of the director’s Thai ID or passport (for foreign nationals).
  • A signed copy of the Manager’s Thai ID.
  • An employee card or HR-issued verification letter confirming the Manager’s employment status.

Once BOI confirms that the director’s name matches the company affidavit, the Manager will be approved. The Manager may then invite additional users, up to 20 per account, via a QR code. The QR code is valid for one minute, and Managers are advised to coordinate directly with the LACL team before sharing.

Companies should complete registration as soon as possible to avoid disruption in access to the BOI system starting September 2025.
