- Taiwanese e-passport holders will be able to use New Zealand’s eGate system starting 13 October 2025
Taiwan and New Zealand Reciprocal Border Clearance
Taiwan announced that, starting October 13, 2025, Taiwanese e-passport holders are eligible to use New Zealand’s eGate system for faster border clearance.
Travelers are encouraged to complete the New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD) online within 24 hours before departure to ensure smooth processing. In return, Taiwan is preparing to allow New Zealand e-passport holders to use its own e-Gate system, with implementation expected between late November and December 2025.
This reciprocal arrangement reflects the strong partnership between Taiwan and New Zealand, built on shared values like democracy and human rights and aims to enhance travel convenience and bilateral exchanges.
