Singapore Increase EP and S Pass Salary Thresholds Beginning January 2027

Key Point  

  • Singapore will raise the qualifying salaries for both the Employment Pass (EP) and S Pass starting January 2027, with additional increases projected for the S Pass through 2030. 

EP and S Pass Salary Thresholds 

Singapore confirmed upcoming adjustments to work pass salary requirements as part of broader workforce and competitiveness reforms.  

Timeline for Changes  

The revised thresholds will apply first to new applications in January 2027, followed by renewals in January 2028. 

Revised Salary Thresholds for January 2027 

Pass Type  Current Minimum  New Minimum (Jan 2027) 
Employment Pass (EP)  S$5,600  S$6,000 
S Pass  S$3,300  S$3,600 
  • The new thresholds apply to new applications from January 2027. 
  • They apply to renewals from January 2028. 

Projected Future Increases 

The government also indicated that the S Pass qualifying salary is expected to rise further to S$4,000–S$4,500 by 2030, reflecting ongoing efforts to uplift skills and maintain a strong local‑foreign workforce balance.
